Hair

Hair should be smart and, where hair is long it should be worn tied back for safety reasons. Hair accessories should be minimal e.g. small hair clips, thin headbands, and small bows, in school colours of blue and white.

Haircuts with patterns cut into them or extreme hair styles are not acceptable.

Footwear

Sensible black school shoes should be worn. (If possible without deep grooves and a sensible sized heel.)

Trainers and boots are not acceptable for indoor wear.

N.B. For safety reasons open toed sandals, jelly shoes or plastic sandals and high heeled shoes are not acceptable in school.

If your child comes to school in alternative footwear on poor weather days, we request that children bring their school shoes to change into once inside the building.

Jewellery

For health and safety reasons we request that no jewellery is worn in school. Children may wear a watch. We would prefer that ear-rings are not worn, though a small pair of stud type ear rings is acceptable, but must be removed for PE.  If this is not possible, parents/carers should provide plasters to cover the earrings.

PE & Sports Uniform (Reception, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2)

PE lessons in the morning: children come to school wearing their PE kit and bring their school uniform in a bag to change into after the lesson.
PE lessons in the afternoon: children come to school wearing their school uniform and bring their PE kit in a bag to change into for their lesson.

Reception information

Please note that in Reception children do lots of Physical Development outdoors every day, in our outdoor area. They also  have formal P. E. lesson once a week and on this day they are able to come into school wearing their PE kit. During the summer term we ask that school uniform is brought into school to encourage independence in changing to support transition to Year 1 by the end of the summer term.

Indoors

  • Navy/Black shorts

  • White polo shirt or t-shirt (N.B. This should be a different polo shirt to any worn as part of the school uniform)

(for gymnastics, a black leotard may also be worn).

Outdoors

Tracksuits will be allowed for outdoor games in cold weather; these should not be in team colours/fashion brands.

Trainers should be worn which are robust, sturdy and intended for exercise and not fashion.

Exceptions

The school recognises that in specific cases, there may be a valid reason for altering the standard uniform requirements e.g. medical reasons.

These should be discussed with the Headteacher beforehand.

If you have any unwanted uniform items that are in good condition and that may help some of our families, we would be really grateful if you could donate these at reception. We will pass these onto members of the Local School Board who have set up a uniform exchange located in church and open to all parent/carers. Please ask at the school office for more details or go along on Tuesdays during Church Together which is open from 3.15pm after school each week.

If you are a parent/carer who is struggling to purchase new uniform and wish to make use of any donations, please contact the school office in confidence on enquiries@cpa.dsat.education and we will be happy to help.

Please note that all uniform donated will be cleaned and pressed prior to redistribution.
